After attending my first GP Partner Connections conference in Orlando, FL in 2010, I could immediately see this was the place to be if you’re a VAR or ISV working within the Microsoft Dynamics GP ecosystem.
As the 2010 event closed, the organizers asked for volunteers to help with next year's planning and well, without thinking too much about what I was getting into, I threw out my contact information.
Now it’s almost time for the 2011 event and I’m actively involved with helping the planning committee with the November 6th - 8th event at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV (that’s right, Vegas!). While I’m enjoying this new role, I’m also really looking forward to putting on my presenter hat and supporting the following sessions:
1. Social Media for Partners & VAR’s (I'm very excited for this as I get to join forces with Mark Polino of I.B.I.S.!)
Leveraging Your Online Presence to Turn Lost Opportunities into Wins
In this session, VAR and ISV attendees will learn the value of social media in building relationships, reputations and sales pipelines within the Dynamics community and how to execute a social media plan step-by-step.
2. Are You Making or Breaking Your ISV / VAR Relationship? (This will be a joint session with Quentin Martin of Tectura and an interesting one at that as you'll hear from both sides of the relationship.)
Understanding the Key Factors that Drive a Successful Channel Partnership
ISVs and VARs continually re-position themselves to align with Microsoft’s strategy. However, to keep your partnerships on track, both in creating advocacy and closing business, it’s imperative to understand each others’ expectations. This session will provide clarity on common dilemmas that need resolution in order to maximize partner relationships.
