It’s impossible to be everywhere all the time at Convergence, especially when I heard that the NOLA Convention Center is 1.5 miles long! Thankfully the community’s MVPs had us covered, making sure that they took in all the information and announcements that impact the communities they support.
I caught up with Donna Edwards, Dynamics CRM Consultant and CRM MVP 2009 – 2012, and asked her, “What did you think were the major announcements and what are the implications for the ERP community that you support?”
From Donna: One of the key themes that I heard throughout Convergence in relationship to Dynamics CRM is Microsoft’s focus on developing an application that people love and love to use. I think Microsoft is proving it is their focus with the new flat form UI which eliminates the multiple window issue in previous versions. This design supports a more interactive approach with the use and should increase user adoption which will be a win for staff and companies as we can expect the application to contain more data, more data that is relevant and data that is easier to discover and consume. I also see great strides being made in the areas of social, collaboration, marketing and access with the recent acquisitions of Netbreeze, Marketing Pilot, Yammer and, on the horizon, their device agnostic approach to accessing CRM (new mobility strategy) and more seamless integration with Microsoft Office products to include Outlook.
