Extensive Windows-compatible functionality and performance
Vantage Point EDI is built on three key Microsoft technology components: .NET, SQL and XML. Reliance on these components enables powerful Windows-compatible functionality and performance with a low total cost of ownership. Since Microsoft’s SQL platform is highly scalable, Vantage Point EDI can traverse large record sets with lightning speed, making it an enterprise-class solution for companies processing millions of transactions per month. Powerful business rules fire dynamically during document creation; this eliminates unnecessary data entry and helps prevent compliance fines by making sure all documents and elements conform to individual partner requirements.
Solution-oriented design
Vantage Point EDI is a functional solution – not just a set of tools to build a solution. Unlike legacy translators such as Sterling Gentran®, Vantage Point EDI leverages the data received from your partners to create the outbound documents your partners require without forcing the ERP system to store and return extraneous data to the translator. Each element of the inbound document is captured in a standardized XML format within an SQL database and made available to Vantage Point EDI’s mapping system to provide the needed information to the partner.

Standardized handling of different data formats is a key component of Data Masons’ EDI Made Simple® concept. If the proper standard is loaded, then the data is always handled the same way, regardless of the data format or version used by the customer. Vantage Point EDI is also very simple to set up among diverse partners without a complex implementation project. Vantage Point EDI supports X12, EDIFACT and international document sets and is equally adept at handling EDI, XML, ASCII delimited, ASCII fixed length, spreadsheets and any ODBC-compliant data source for the transformation and integration of business transactions into our supported ERP platforms.
Powerful mapping functionality
A managed compliance model using SAAS technology enables instantaneous map changes via a Web connection. Vantage Point EDI’s Universal Data Translator can “map” the most accurate data by dynamically retrieving data from any potential source of the needed data – the accounting system, the original inbound document, cross-reference tables, or virtually any other ODBC-compliant data source.
Control your updates and ERP upgrades
Vantage Point EDI’s non-embedded design and XML data storage within SQL allows virtually any new compliance initiative without the need for costly ERP customization, upgrades or integration. Data Masons supports ERP integrations long after the ERP solution provider has terminated support for the version. Vantage Point EDI upgrades can be accomplished in minutes by your system administrator.
