From the desk of Dennis Bruce:

This privately-owned company, which contracts to manufacture cereal, croutons, snack mixes and dry mix products for its clients, found that their initial EDI solution was not the right ingredient to integrate with their AX 2009 platform and to support their expanding business.

The original EDI solution selected was supposedly built into their AX 2009 platform. While the company could process simple purchase orders and invoices, they found that there was nothing to support the more mission critical processes such as the 900 series Warehouse Documents.

Support for the processing of the 900 series documents is critical to the company’s business given its business model. Knowing that a new EDI solution was needed to better support its industry-specific business needs, the company requested the support of their Microsoft Dynamics reselling partner, who inquired about an alternative EDI solution that would integrate seamlessly with AX 2009 and provide a broader range of document support.

The Partner recommended Vantage Point EDI from Data Masons given their previous success and their clients’ satisfaction with the solution.  Unlike other EDI solutions, Vantage Point EDI has the unique ability to adapt to the company’s industry needs, which encompasses warehouse document support, in addition to providing support for more standard documents.

Data Masons was able to integrate all of the warehouse documents without any customizations required to the Dynamics AX ERP platform. Given the ease of integration and confidence the company gained in their new EDI solution, they decided to replace their original EDI solution and provider.

For this leading contract manufacturer of baked goods, they found the missing ingredient to their Supply Chain recipe to be an integrated EDI solution that could support the industry’s largest document library, quickly and easily, without any risk-filled Dynamics ERP platform customizations.
